After a rather stressful week before, we had a wonderful relaxing getaway time at Life Aquatic. The view is awesome and the house was exactly what we wanted. Watched the resident egret, 2 pair of trumpet swans and their constant duck companions. The water is perfect for kayaking and paddle boards. Almost no waves. The house is maintained and clean. It’s very pet friendly. Our dogs loved the fenced in yard. We highly recommend this place in the Alpena Michigan area.

We returned to this wonderful quaint cabin because of it’s charm and makes us feel comfortable. We had another fantastic time, thank you 🙂 Gail and Mike

There are not enough words for how amazing the view is. We did our annual family vacation here & it did not disappoint in the least. The house was full of extra things for the kids to do (we had 3 under 6), very clean, plenty of additional amenities. The overlook of the bluff is amazing for your morning coffee & throughout the day! Everyone that was involved in renting was great & had quick responses. We will most definitely be returning to stay again!

​Our stay at ‘Emanuel’ was an absolute dream and a perfect retreat from our everyday lives. From the moment we arrived, our hosts, Char and Duck, made us feel like part of their extended family. Their warmth, helpfulness, and accommodating nature were truly exceptional. ​The apartment itself is a lovely, comfortable, and cozy haven. We were so impressed by the thoughtful touches, from the charming decorations to the nice candies that welcomed us. It was the perfect base for our adventures. ​The location is ideal for anyone looking to explore the breathtaking beauty of the region. We had the freedom to bike and were just a short distance from Empire, the fabulous M-22 scenic byway, and the magnificent trails, beaches, and dunes of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. ​A special and heartfelt thank you goes to their daughter, Gayle. She was incredibly gracious and giving with her time, watching over our two Australian Shepherds, Oakley and Rocky, who can be a handful! She walked them on the beautiful, nearly 5-acre property, which gave us such peace of mind to explore. ​We are so grateful to Char, Duck, and Gayle for sharing their incredible home and property with us. It was more than just a place to stay; it was a home away from home where we felt genuinely cared for. We cannot recommend this wonderful retreat highly enough!

Comfy, cozy cottage on a pretty lake with beautiful sunrises and night sky. The area has plenty of bike trails, hiking, a National Lakeshore and towns nearby with good food. We are planning to rent again. Thanks for a wonderful time!

This was one of the best places we have ever rented, and the 4 of us have done this for 30 years. Very clean, fully stocked, comfortable beds and walking distance to everything local. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful experience. Clean, quiet, beautiful view and calm quiet Cub lake. Highly recommend. My family’s 2 time at this BNB and we look forward to renting it again.

Twin birch was a great place! The entire area was quiet, safe and had all the things needed. We loved the kayaks and boats – such a great addition to the stay. Our kids learned to kayak and now want their own at home. We explored the local “must sees.” There really is nothing negative I could say. Kelly was great and full of information. The Kodiak was a great space for our family of 5. My in-laws stayed in the Red Laker and enjoy their time too. We will definitely be back to create more memories.
